Michael & the Forest Creature (Short Story)

Into The Woods

Once upon a time, there was a young boy named Michael who lived in a small town called Oak Ridge, which was named for its oak wood forests. One day, while Michael was out exploring the woods behind his house, he encountered a strange creature that looked like it came straight out of a horror movie. The creature was tall and skinny, with very sharp claws and teeth. It also had glowing red eyes that could almost see right through you. Michael quickly realized that he was in grave danger. So he ran away as fast as he could. As he ran, the creature followed close behind him. Michael ran furiously, his heart pounding in his chest. He could hear the creature's footsteps echoing behind him and its grunts as it ran at full speed. He dared to not look back and he kept running until he reached a river. He quickly jumped in and swam to the other side. The creature tried to follow, but the water was too deep for it. Michael emerged on the other side of the river, completely safe now, but he could still see the creature's red eyes glaring at him from across the way.
