Money can bring happiness

We sat there and by the time the sky went black we had 2 dollars. "You have them, Nalani" I said being kind. "Oh come on, you have one" "if you insist" I replied as she handed me a dollar that shone In the light of the streetlights. I smiled and walked of home under the light of the moon. My hair swished and swayed as I walked into the house, I fell into bed with a smile. And for once fell asleep happy.
The bright sun shone into my room through the open curtains, throwing a few shadows across the floor.
i did what I did most Days but with a bright and joyful smile spread across my face. Not just because I had a dollar but because I had a friend. "Todays going to be purr-fect" I giggled at my pun when I packed my bag and walked out the door with a skip in my step. At school everything was the same except I saw Nalani. "Nalani!" I yelled I waved to her smiling. She just kept walking her head looking down at the grey path. I felt disappointed but continued to eat "you know her?" "Yeah I met her last night" they all stared at me.
When it was home time I walked alone once again but tonight felt different, I shook the feeling off.
Police surrounded my house "no ones home?" "Yes that's my house!" "Well little lady were are your parents" "I I i don't know, one day they were here with me the next they're gone" I stammered
-Flash back-
"Ke'ala! Come on!" I got up and ran to my mum "I'm going to miss you" I said weeping I looked into her big bright eyes and felt calm again. She walked out the door. I waved and walked back in the house. They were supposed to be away a few days it had been about six weeks "it's been so long since last I saw my mum" I thought. I saw from my mums point of view "I didn't know what I was think leaving my daughter behind" she was thinking. She got stuck in a car crash. She saw my sweet eyes and smile they were all fuzzy.
-end of flash back-
"Earth to Ke'ala, earth to Ke'ala are you there?" "I lost her, to this monster, the man behind the crash" the police men looked at me in shock. "What on earth?" "Flash back" I replied as I strode into the house. I felt a tap on my shoulder "you're going to have to go to the Orphanage you know"
