Chapter 1.

Humble Beginnings.

My adventures, and the beginnings of my life, began in the year 1406 DR, in the town of Trinity. It was a fabulous and amazing place, Docks and Shipyards to the south, Military barracks and training to the north, as well as some basic residential areas and even more to the west. A couple pleasant taverns in the main center and the west, and merchants of every type, books, arcane, divine and your good old blacksmiths. It was a perfect hub for adventurers and their ilk... A perfect place for me to start.
Being an avid reader, I decided to head to the library first thing that day, run by a little halfling names Dextur. Wonderful little fellow, about as lively as the short folk get, and a wonderful tale teller. I was reading around when I saw this gigantic, open tome, just sitting there on a bench. Unrelenting was my curiosity, and as it flooded over my rational mind, my senses tingled as I placed the book I was reading back into it's spot on the shelves. Looking back over to the tome, I wander over to it, instantly becoming engrossed in the story. A wonderful one at that, about this old moat house which was once under the control of a cult or some such. I wondered what it'd be like to go there, have a bit of an explore around. Hey, maybe I'd find some loot. I do need some gold, a Drow's got to eat after all, eh?
I went over to Dextur soon after that. Looking up at me, he gives a cheery grin, "How can I help you M'lord?" He said, happiness bursting out in his words. I give a small grin to the halfling, flashing my teeth "I was wondering if you could tell me anything more on this Moathouse I read about?" I reply, excitement dripping from every word. Dextur looked up at me, thrilled at my wonder. "You know what? If you come along with me on my way to Searloon, I'll drop you off on my way. How 'bout that?" He said kindly, a twinkle in his eye. I kneel down, at eye level with Dextur, and thrust my hand out. "Done" I reply, sharing that same twinkle. He clasps my hand and shakes it. "We'll be on our way tomorrow. See you then!"
