Should she be mad at me?

I had a friend that I would invite to pool parties and she said she wasn't too comfortable because she didn't go to our school and didn't know my friends. She told me that she doesn't want to attend them but if I wanted to hang out with her we could always go out. I had a big pool party for my birthday and I didn't tell her, she found out and got mad. Should she be mad at me or was I right by doing as she asked?Let me know what you think and why

She has the right to be mad. Even if she'd decline, it's always best to let a friend know. Especially when it's your birthday.

She has the right to get mad. Sure, you've invited her to pool parties before, but those weren't your birthday party. This case is different. If I were her, I wouldn't want to go to just any pool party, but I would want to go to my friend's birthday party, regardless of who I knew.

But if we are gonna go out to do something why would she be mad about the party?

Because you didn't TELL HER.

But she said we can go out whenever. So wouldn't she like it more if we just hung out for my bday?

That's an entirely different question.
