Chapter 1Kaede sat in her living room, waiting for Miu to arrive.
Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. All this waiting secretly drove her crazy. Kaede clicked her tongue as the clock ticked. Now, why was Kaede waiting for Miu? That was a good question others would ask. Miu acted like she hated Kaede's guts.
Well, it started when Kaede was playing the school piano in the music room. Miu had left one of her inventions in the music room as well. As she went to go get it, she overheard Kaede playing the piano and even singing along.
As much as Miu had hated to admit it, she was secretly in love with Kaede's piano playing skills. She listened to her singing and playing to a certain song Miu loved. After Kaede finished, Miu clapped. Kaede had turned around to look at her, and she looked a bit surprised.
"Oh! You liked it, Iruma?" Kaede asked, smiling.
"H-huh?" Miu's cheeks were tinted a light shade of pink. "No! You just sound more decent than usual."
She walked over to the unfinished invention and shoved it into her bag. "I kind of wish I could play like that," Miu had muttered very quietly, hoping Kaede wouldn't hear. However, Kaede had great hearing and heard every single word.
"Oh! I can teach you if you'd like," Kaede offered. "Or... It's your choice, Iruma. Would you like me to teach you how to play?"
"E-eh?! Well... That would be great," Miu replied. "Sure..."
"Great! How about every Saturday, then?" Kaede asked. "I'll text you my address."
"F-fine, I-Idiotmatsu..." Miu had stuttered, and quickly left the room. Kaede was unsure of why she called her that. That was how it started. Miu thought Kaede's piano playing was "more decent than usual".
"It's 8:00am now," Kaede thought to herself. "Iruma should be here any minute now-"
Kaede's thoughts were interrupted by the doorbell ringing.
Kaede rushed downstairs to answer it. She opened the door to see a tired looking Miu standing in front of her.
"Good morning, Iruma!" Kaede cheerfully greeted the inventor.
"Yeah, yeah, I came here for the lessons. It's not like I came here to see you and your depressing breasts so early in the morning, Idiotmatsu," Miu said, as her usual loud-mouthed self.
"Okay, I'm gonna pretend that I didn't hear that last part," Kaede thought to herself.
"Anyway," Kaede said nervously. "Come inside! You can keep your shoes on if you want."
Miu followed Kaede to a room with a large piano and a large seat.
"So let's start with the first warm up. Can you show me C Major?" Kaede asked.
"E-eh? I think it was this?" Miu put all five fingers on her hand on C, D, E, F, and G.
"No, just C, E, and G," Kaede corrected her. "And you shouldn't use the low notes."
Kaede gently slid Miu's hand to the fourth octave, and lifted Miu's hand posture up just a little bit with her own hand.
"Never let your palm touch the keys," Kaede said.
After a few seconds, Kaede took her hand off of Miu's, also blushing. "S-sorry!"
While they continued the lesson, Kaede was staring at Miu the entire time. Kaede seemed to love almost everything about Miu. Her long, blonde hair, her beautiful blue eyes, her fair complexion, everything about her was perfect.
"W-wait... Do I have a crush on my classmate? My female classmate?" Kaede asked herself in her mind. After the lesson was done, Miu turned to Kaede before saying, "Thanks, Kaede." and leaving.
"You're welcome, Miu," Kaede waved before going inside and freaking out.
"Did Iruma just call me by my first name? Did I just call her by her first name? Wait... Do I really have a crush on her?" Kaede asked herself.
Kaede went back upstairs and fixed her long, blonde hair. She laid down on her bed, a train of thoughts circling her mind.
"But why do I have a crush on her? Does she even LIKE girls?" Kaede's lilac eyes shifted over to a mini robot on her bedside. The robot that Miu had made for her birthday.
"Well, her face was pretty flushed," Kaede looked at her right hand. The hand that touched Miu's hand.
Kaede turned over onto her stomach and buried her face into her pillow, unsure of what to do with these sudden feelings of affection for her classmate.
"Or maybe I just want to be really really good friends with her?" She asked herself. No. It was way more than that. She was definitely in love with the almost-perfect Miu Iruma.
"She probably doesn't even like girls, does she?" Kaede thought, burying her face even deeper into her pillow. However, little did she know that Miu was feeling the same feelings of affection for Kaede that Kaede felt for me.
Miu was lying on her bed as well, asking herself the same questions that Kaede was asking herself.
"What if Akamatsu's straight?" Miu asked herself. "She probably likes Stupidichi Stinkyhara, doesn't she?"
Miu sighed, playing with her long, blonde hair. "But then I'll be forever alone. I don't want to date any of the stupid boys at our school!"
Miu wanted to work on something to help her remember all the notes and chords on the piano to impress Kaede, of course, but at the same time, she wanted to make an invention for Kaede.
"I'll invent a robot that can play absolutely any song on any instrument!" Miu thought that was an even better idea. She knew that it would take a lot of time and hard work, but it would definitely be worth it in the end!
Miu started planning immediately. She only made inventions for "people who have lives and aren't worthless shitheads", and Miu could definitely consider Kaede as one of those people, even though she didn't show it. She loved Kaede, and wanted to see her happy, so she knew she would definitely put her hardest work into this robot.
