"How many ways are there to say I love you, and why can't I say any of them to her without freaking out..?"It was a typical day in the Edolas version of the Fairy Tail guild. Gray was nagging Juvia with his constant "Juvia-chaaan~!" whines while Juvia constantly rejected him, telling him to shut up. Lucy was arguing with Levy, the blue haired girl telling her she "freaking sucks" and Lucy provoking her further. Then there was Natsu, who instead of normally tinkering with his car, a magic four wheeler, was staring at the ground shuffling his feet nervously.
"I-I've got to do it, I-I have to tell her how I feel." I mumbled, stuttering over my words already. I had been preparing for this for so long and yet I was still nervous and afraid. What if she doesn't like me back? What if we won't be friends anymore? What if she'll think I'm weird and laugh at me? So many what ifs crossed my mind, I had no idea what to do. Try again some other day maybe?
No, I had to do this if I wanted Taylor to know how I felt, like she says it's better to give something a chance than walk away and not know the outcome. I felt so ready to tell her how I feel, my heart couldn't stand it. Heck, my heart might have been racing faster than my own car could accelerate, and boy that was fast.
Hesitantly I took a step towards where she sat, sharpening and polishing her sword on one of the tables with her legs crossed over one another. Her silky black hair fell so neatly to the sides of her face and for once she actually had worn it down, she looked so pretty. What am I thinking? She's always pretty to me, maybe even downright gorgeous! As Maco and Wakaba would say anyway if they were talking about Mirajane.
My heart raced even faster and I felt a lump forming in my throat. Before I could walk any further I chickened out and walked away, to get answers from my best friend Gray, maybe he could think of some way for me to tell Taylor how I felt, some way where I wouldn't freak out and run away. I wanted to be brave, I had to be brave for her.
As usual, Gray was pestering Juvia about wanting to go on a job with her. Juvia looked quite annoyed at the boy wearing several layers of clothing, she couldn't stand him constantly following her around like some creepy stalker, chanting her name like some annoying cheerleader who constantly clung to someone.
"G-Gray?" Natsu stuttered causing the raven haired male wearing many layers of clothes to turn his attention over to the pinkette.
"What is it Natsu?" Gray asked in reply.
"I-I need help."
"A-Asking out T-Taylor."
"Oh," Gray remarked and sat down, motioning Natsu who sat down beside him. "I don't get why you're having so much trouble asking Tay out, it's easy."
"I-I know Gray.. B-but... H-how many ways are there to say I love you... A-and why can't I say any of them t-to her?" Natsu asked and Gray crossed his arms (somewhat) in thought. He knew how it worked, but he just didn't have a clue how to put it.
"Sh-showing her?" Natsu asked tilting his head with curiosity.
"Yeah, you know not telling her how you feel but showing her."
"How would I do th-that?"
"I bet you can come up with something."
"O-okay..." Natsu said, and then he came up with the idea. He got up and ran out of the guild hall in a hurry, leaving his raven haired friend behind left to wonder what the pinkette was up to.
Later that day Natsu came back to the guild, and finally confronted Taylor as she was heading back home.
"T-Tay! H-hi." He stuttered waving at her.
"Hi Natsu. What's up?" Taylor replied with a warm sweet smile, making his heart melt. He absolutely loved when she smiled, for some reason it always made him calm and relaxed.
"I-I have something to show y-you." Natsu said and hesitantly took her hand, his face heating up as a blush creeped onto his cheeks. Taylor had a faint blush as well, following the pinkette.
The two walked to his car, typical Natsu. The two got in and sat down in the plush seats that welcomed them, Taylor easily relaxing into the passenger seat and him in the drivers seat.
"Want to listen to something on the radio?" Natsu asked, not stuttering since being in his car gave him more confidence.
"Okay?" Taylor said looking puzzled as Natsu turned the radio on. What came on surprised her, it wasn't a song, but it was a message, and it sounded like him, wait, it was Natsu!
"Tay, I can't believe I've been hiding how I felt about you for so long. I'm so sorry for being so awkward, I've just never felt this way before. I really like you a lot, heck I'll just say it. I love you a lot Tay. If it weren't for you protecting me all the time I'd be punished by Lucy's elbow screwdriver in the side of my head everyday and having bruises all the time. If it weren't for you helping me when I'm sick or get hurt I wouldn't get better any faster. I love you like crazy Tay."
And with that, the message turned off, leaving both her and Natsu blushing. Taylor was absolutely shocked, she had no idea what to say at all.
"Tay, be my girl, please?" Natsu asked.
"Of course! I've loved you too!" Taylor said happily and hugged him. Throughout the rest of the evening Natsu and Taylor drove around, relaxed together, and even shared a few kisses with each other. Natsu was especially happy with himself, he finally confessed his love for a swords woman who had a heart of gold that he couldn't live without.
