The First Kittens are BornOnce upon a time, there was a mother cat named Lucy, who had a litter of kittens. They were the most adorable kittens you had ever seen; there was a white kitten with golden patches named Popcorn, a black kitten with white paws named Cloak, and a silver kitten named Samantha.
Lucy's friend, Icing, also had a litter of kittens; a beautiful white one named Daisy, and a dark ginger one named Spice.
One day, when the kittens were two months old, Daisy and Popcorn chatted, while Spice, Cloak, and Samantha played a game of tag.
"You can't catch me!" Samantha taunted, as Spice ran after her.
"Oh, yes I can!" Spice yowled after Samantha as she pounced on the silver kitten. Cloak pounced too.
"Settle down, kittens!" Icing called.
"It's time for bed," Lucy added.
The kittens looked up, and noticed that the sun was setting, and a few stars were coming out.
"Oh, come on!" Cloak yowled over the noise of the other cats.
"Well, okay," agreed Samantha. "As long as we get to sleep with Spice and Daisy."
"It’s fine with me," Icing offered.
"Then yes, you may." Lucy decided.
The kittens all had the same great dream; they were next to a lake, eating mice, when they grew fins and gills like fish, and wings like birds. They flew through the air and went swimming. How great it felt! When they were done playing, they settled down to share a mouse that was as big as a fox. Then the dream ended.
