Lights GleamPart One
It's a windy day, fifty degrees Fahrenheit. The scent of trees and cold air roam around. The sun shines bright as it sets. A young boy with shaggy black hair strolls up a hill, past a few trees. He wears skinny jeans and a worn out Metallica T-shirt with a pair of black boots. A jacket to go along with. His green apple eyes shine along with the smile spread across his face as he walks towards a girl, laying in the grass with a camera in hand. He goes by the name of Jacob.
Jacob: * walks up to the girl, leaning over her gently to grin at the camera she holds up to her face* "Hey there Izzy." His voice is deep and scratchy.
Izzy: * snaps a picture of him and can't help but release a faint laugh*
Her skin is the color of coffee beans. And her eyes are like the ocean. Her bouncy pink kinky hair lays in the grass below her. Wearing a black sundress, which had velvet roses scattered as the pattern. Black leggings cling to her skin and her arms covered in goosebumps from the cold. Her gentle red lips raise into a smile as she meets the eyes of her best friend. She goes by the name of Isabelle.
Izzy: * places her camera down and stares up at him* "Hey Jake..." she shivers at him.
Jacob holds out an arm and helps her up. Isabelle then jumps him with a hug and they both fall over laughing.
Jacob: "You look like you're freezing to death out here!" He laughs. "Don't you own a coat or a hoodie or a jacket? Or even know the term 'bundle-up'?" They both continue to laugh.
Jacob takes off his jacket and hands it over to Izzy. She gladly takes it, and hugs the warm fabric close, discreetly getting a whiff of his scent that she loved so much. She puts the jacket on and smiles at him. They have both been friends since the beginning of middle school. They now stand as highschool seniors. They're very close. Jacob looks upon Izzy as a sister. Izzy, on the other hand... has always wanted more than what they have.
Izzy: * sighs and hugs herself close* "Thanks for the jacket"
Jacob: * grins at her and nods* "No problem. You needed it this time, Elsa."
Izzy: "The cold never bothered me anyway!... well, until today." They both laugh.
There's silence for a while. Both trying to think of conversation. Finally, Isabelle speaks up.
Izzy: *coughs a little and looks up at him* "Isn't it cool that we're seniors now?"
Jacob: * slightly raises an eyebrow* "Umm...I guess." He sighs. " It's been four years at that place." he continues, looking at Izzy. "Nothing feels different yet."
Izzy: * nods in agreement* "Except that we get to graduate. And get away from that wide selection of crack heads and idiots." They both laugh.
They both talk for a while. Laughing, and simply enjoying each other's company. Eventually Izzy has to go home. And Jacob decides to start walking home himself.
"WHAT IN GODS NAME IS GOING ON IN HERE?!"
A young woman stands in the doorway of a dark, fogged up party room filled with laughter and the scent of alcohol on everyone. Her eyes as serious as your least liked algebra teacher. Arms crossed over her breasts- that she barely has. Curly, shoulder length, brunette hair and chocolate brown eyes. Her skin was as pale as that kid who spent his whole summer indoors. She wore a white dress, and a frown. Her name was Hadraniel. Or what everyone called her, Haddy.
Haddy: "You are all ANGELS! Angels do not get DRUNK! What would HE say about this?!" she roared to the winged females and males who were having the time of their lives.
Random Voice: * hiccups and laughs* "Well why not ask? He's over in the corner!"
Haddy raised an eyebrow and made her way past the drunkards. She looks over, and her jaw drops instantly. There stood before her was God himself. In his most favorited form- the female- drinking and flirting the day away. Haddy was speechless. At last, she face palmed, and looked him in the eyes, which was hard due to how jealous she was of his boobs. Since he has them.
Haddy: "Sir, our job up here isn't to get drunk! It's about helping mortals, judging the souls, controlling what goes on in the middle layer! We are great beings of innocence and power and a symbol of hope!" she smiles a little and bats her eyes at Him. "Remember?"
The entire room goes silent for a few seconds. All staring at her. God looks down at her and blinks a little.
God: "Well..." he says to her. Then looks around at everyone else in the room. "Someone's been reading a little too much of the Bible" he continues.
Himself, and the entire room bursts out in laughter. Haddy grumbles, and exits the room.
Haddy: "I cannot believe humans worship this guy."
She makes her way outside and sits on a stone bench, which yes, is very uncomfortable. Haddy is one of the angels who hasn't earned her wings yet. Most angels with wings don't have to sit down. Which is why God went for these stone benches of hell, as Haddy called them.
Haddy was all alone for the day. When God was at a party, EVERYONE was at the same party. All except her. She had friends, but they were at the party as well. She thought that things couldn't get any worse than finding out her God doesn't even believe in himself. Until the most mysterious thing had happened.
The ground rumbled and roared, shaking under Haddys feet. Earthquake? They aren't supposed to happen in Heaven. She got up and looked around for a cause of the shaking, and finding none, it just got worse. Falling to her feet she noticed something on the ground. Cracks. "Holy God heaven is ending" she thought to herself as the ground split open in front of her. She rolled away quickly and stood up best she can. How was no one else noticing this? The question stood unanswered in her mind as a huge gust of wind carries her off her feet and shoots her in the cracked and split hole that laid in heavens floor. She was gone. Falling slowly to middle layer.
•It's Raining Women°
Walking along the sidewalk was Jacob. He had let Izzy go home with his jacket, making him a little cold, but not as cold as she would have been. Which is why he doesn't mind it. Jacob was a nice guy, and he would have felt bad if he didn't let her take it. He lets out a sigh in the cool, crisp autumn air, and hums what sounds like Green Day to himself.
Minutes later, the streets were empty. No one but Jacob walking alone in the night. He always took the long routes back home. His house was not a very pleasant place to be in, and he would rather freeze on his way back then arrive there sooner.
A bright light shot out of the sky and caught Jacobs attention. He had no idea where this light was coming from, and was about to keep walking until he heard the sound of a scream. He became alert and looked around quickly, unsure of what was going on. The scream gets closer and closer... he translates it out to be female. And very loud. He turns around for second, and the next thing he hears to stop the screaming is a great 'thud'. The light disappears and he looks over quickly. His eyes widened and mouth gaped open. A woman layed on the now cracked street in front of him. She wasn't moving. She must've been dead.
Jacob: "Oh my god!" *runs over to the woman, and quickly starts checking her pulse* He takes a deep breath, and sighs in relief. She was still alive.
Jacob had come to the conclusion that the bright light had blocked his way of seeing this woman get pushed off a roof or something. Being the nice guy he was, he picked her up and had to make a decision. Bring her to the hospital now, or let her stay at his house until she wakes up? So that she could decide herself if she wants to go. She didn't look that harmed, to his surprise. But he wouldn't be shocked if she had some broken bones or a major concussion.
He decided on the latter and started walking home again. What on earth was he going to tell his parents?
