If money is made from paper and paper is made from trees then why do people say money doesn't grow on trees?

Unlike how fruit is grown on trees, money is not just grown on a tree waiting to be picked off

technically, money isnt only grown on trees its also made of cotton too. and you cant just pick it off a tree. they grow the trees and cotton or whatever, then use those to make the money
