Is Sucide Squad Harley Quinn's costum sexist?

Is Sucide Squad Harley Quinn's costum sexist?

There has been some controversy about the costum choice for Suicide Squad's Harley Quinn. Any time a female action hero's (or in this case anti-hero) costum is "too revealing" people get upset saying it's sexist. Do you personally have a problem with the costum choice for Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn?

The costume is not sexist. It may be revealing, but it is part of the character and it does not make the character have a persona change if that makes sense.

I personally dont have a problem with it because it plays to the character. If they just had a random chick dressed in lingerie with no application to the character then that would be stupid, but being a sex symbol is part of Harley Quinn's character.

I don't find it sexist though the actor didn't like the costume. But I see nothing wrong with it because people can wear what they want.

She didn't like it because when she had the water scene it clinged to her

Harley Quinns sexuality is a part of her character, also she's fully aware of her effect on people. There's also an extreme double standard in regards to sexualising male and female characters. For example why is Chris Evans unnecessarily walking around with his shirt off (not that I'm complaining) okay but Harley taking changing in front of a crowd (also not complaining) worse?

No. Honestly, I don't think some people understand the term 'sexist'. To me, it's just an outfit that people wanted her to wear. I actually think it's kind of cute. Like @Parabolic said, they're pretty much saying that a muscular man can't walk around shirtless. So, my answer, again, is no.

I wish it was the old one
Where it matched Joker's costume
So
Like
I dunno
Marvele
Yeah, but they're making it live action so it would probably be worse for the actor. And plus Leto's Joker is different so his Harley would have to adapt.
