What should I do? (Read description)

There's a school play in my school that I want to do. Last year, I was an extra. I made it my goal to get an actual role this year, and I REALLY don't want to be an extra again.
I don't want a role that has to fall in love or one that is evil. There was ONE role like that. It was for a boy OR a girl. Now, the audition songs came out and I find out that they changed it to a boys only role. So I have to either:
1. Try out for the evil queen, princess, or other lady whose importance I don't understand. All three of those have to be evil or fall in love. Not to mention that I have no chance in getting any of those. because there are a bunch of other girls that take choir and are better trained as signing than I am. (So, I eventually would end up as an extra)
2. Not do the play at all and feel left out

Please try to actually convince me which one I should do, and PLEASE answer fast because if I'm gonna do it, I should start practicing my audition song. Also, if you want me to do the first option, please try to convince me of which role I should try out for.

EDIT: I decided I am gonna try out for a role, but I just don't know which one to try out for! I'd feel uncomfortable in any of those roles!

As an actress, it is your job to try new roles. I had to be the evil person once for a play, it was literally the best role I have ever had. It is so fun to play the bad guy! Everybody loves them, even though they are supposed to be bad. Just try out for one of the other roles! Who knows, you may end up loving it!

You're in a play, yes? Then that makes you an actress.

Acting is about going outside your comfort zone. You are supposed to feel vulnerable, that's how the emtions feel real. I think it's a good idea to try for one of those roles that would make you uncomfortable. And even if you don't get one of the roles next time there is an uncomfortable role the act of going outside your comfort zone won't feel so forgien.

Ask the directors/whoever is running the play for an exception to the 'boys only' rule. You shouldn't be limited just because of your gender.

I would be Evil Queen because you are very inportent and it is not like you are doing a murder scene. (I am a evil Mastermind)

try the other roles if you make it that's great! if you don't there's always next year those other girls that are choir just pretty much know warm ups which you could find easily on the internet I suggest you try out for the evil queen and if you don't make that one you could do the princess if you don't make that one you could do the other lady if your auditioning for it by singing i could try to come up with a song for you if you don't have one already ( tiprink warm water See More▼

Well, you can only audition once. If you don't make it, you might get another role. (Like if I tried out for the princess I could end up as the queen) But thanks!

I think that you should audition for the role that you think is the most fun and if you don't get it then it still is really fun to be an extra!!!

if you want to do this i think you should go for it and just follow your heart. no one likes to be left out. plus alot of the time non trained singers make the best ones. think about it most of your popular singers now probably never had singing lessons. so i think you should go for it, and if you don't reach your goal this time try harder next time and it might work out. bottom line just try out and don't worry about it and so what if your evil have fun with it
