Actually that's not scientifically proven- it's most likely false according to most doctors- orthapaedists- researchers

No, it's just popping the bubbles of gas between your joints that often make your joints ache.

I don't know but my maths teacher said that if you keep cracking your knuckles then your joints get really bad when your older or something like that.

The cracking sound is caused when you let air between your bones. I learned this from an ELA practice test.

What happens is, when you crack your knuckles you are wearing down your joints. If you do this then you will have reduced grip strength when your older but from what ive heard it cant cause arthritis. The popping sound is gas being released.

Cracking your knucles wears away the protective cartilidge between the bones. Eventually they will rub together painfully and cause arthritis. Stop the habit before this happens! That's all I can say. Try going "cold turkey" (completely stopping at once instead of gradually over a period of days) like I do. Believ me, you do not want to get arthritis and wear away your cartilidge. It means eventually you'll need surgery someday. :/
Snips_Snails_And_Undertales
I already need surgery in my ankles because they are messed up from walking on my toes all the time. I do not want another surgery.

My dad says it causes thick knuckles and arthritis. My mom says that's silly- its just releases air from the joints. Idk. Ask a doc? I pop my knuckles all the time.
Idiot_Killjoy
Actually its causes reduced grip strenght but I don't think it can cause arthritis.
