I'm buying myself a fish, I'm getting an axolotl (after I get an apartment so not for awhile, however yes to the fish), I'm getting a hedgehog and I'm definitely DEFINITELY getting animals. They're all so cute, I will research every single day if I have to! I'm learning how to properly care for these animals.

clean their tank once a week, and never change all of the water at once. make sure you acclimate the fish to avoid shock. also you can either use pre-bottled betta fish water or tap water with a conditioner to remove chemicals and make it safe for the fish. for food, avoid things with lots of meals because betta are carnivores. i feed bowie a combination of betta See More▼ flakes, shrimp, and blood worms. he’ll also eat bugs if you put them in but we try to avoid that

betta are pretty easy to take care of!! get a decent sized tank with a filter (minimum is 2.5 gal, I have a 5 gal). they’re tropical fish so they’ll also need a heater. make sure they have a lot of plants and shit to hide in. cycle the tank!!! get the tank and fish food, as well as a bacteria booster a few weeks before the fish, put bacteria in the water, and See More▼ add food daily to set up the colonies of ammonia removing bacteria because if you don’t, toxins build up in the water and they can kill the fish (this happened to bowie but he survived it)

I'm kind of okay now I guess... I'm not as pissed as I was earlier so that's good. I'm getting a black lives matter shirt and I'm hiding it from my parents. I'm going to try and go to protests (probably won't be able to because they control my car basically). but I'm going to do what I can.
