Chapter 3: The Newest Company Member
Chapter 3Part 1
Mask of Lies
Cinaed’s high school is a vocational school called Will Vocational and Agricultural High School. At this voc. school students can learn about the trade they want to go into. Cinaed is in a Agricultural(Farming) program. This may sound easy for him but it’s challenging with the fact that he doesn’t use his blood card powers a matter of fact no one knows he has these powers since he’s never told anyone.
Will Voc. is made up of 6 main buildings. One building called A Building is made up of the library, main office, cafeteria, and a few classrooms. Another is called B Building and is made up of mostly machine related shops and a few classrooms. Another is called C Building which is made up of only classrooms. Another is called D building which is made up of 2 shops cooking and cosmetology and Gym. The last one isn’t a building but multiple which is called X Building, their classified as 1 building because it was 1 building until it burned down and the multiple buildings were built on the ashes.
So we find our protagonist at his school sitting his desk in a classroom with no window. Everyone was in the back row except Cinaed and 2 girls sat in the back row. Cinaed was wearing jeans boots and a T-shirt. Cinaed was taping his pad in front of him waiting for his teachers to come in and start the lesson.
“Hey Cinaed.” a man about Cinaed’s age said behind Cinaed. “Where did you get you tattoo? I tried to find it online but all I got was ones that looked crappy.” he concluded. Cinaed turned around and looked at him. The young man was Jessie James, a young man working to be a bull rider. He had short, straight hair and the beginning of a beard. He also had freckles all over his face.
“Well I got it from….” Cinaed said before trying to come up with an answer. “....one of my great uncles sailor buddies.”
“Wow that must be one good old sailor.” Jessie said.
“Yeah I was a little drunk at the time.” Cinaed said. Fintin laughed.
“Yeah well at least that’s the only thing that makes you look strong.” a young woman about 1 foot below Cinaed’s height said down Jessie’s row. Her name was Kelsey Hance who was stuck up and rich owning her own farm. She had some experience but thought she was the master and higher well at least toward Cinaed. Her Family was at the edge of being rich but they weren’t respected.
“Well at least I have my own stuff.” Cinaed said.
“What did you say Card Loser.” Kelsey said.
“You heard me Absorbtion Mucher.” Cinaed said instigating (Absorption is a magic that absorbs other magics but some magic can’t be absorbed). They both got out of their seats and looked at each.
“Enough!! you too.” a young women said sitting right next to Jessie said. Her name was Alcippe Kolacky, she was from a family of horse farmers and a well respected family in the town. She was a little taller then Cinaed and had long blonde hair. She was like the law of the area wherever she went in the 9 towns. Unlike the Hances, the Kolackys weren’t power hungry and they accepted the power they had and used it wisely and respectfully.
Cinaed and Kelsey both sat down. The small talk continued amongst the teens until their teachers came in one was well large in weight and called Mr. Potter. The other was one tall and skinny and her name was Mrs. Smith.
After a session, they went out to work in the farm area they worked and got experience. Cinaed being paired up with the 2 girls at the end. One was about as tall as Alcippe but more slender, her hair was so black it was blue her name was Elsa. The next one was a couple inches taller than Kelsey, her hair was the same color as Cinaed’s dirty gold. Her names was Karrie. They were assigned the Sheep Barn. The little barn was where except their sheep but one ram was as large as a bug car so every time they cleaned the sheep barn he had to be tied up.
“So Cinaed did you hear about how DragonWielder took down Phoenix for 1 of your Company mates?” Karrie asked.
“Well you could say I got a good look at that fight.” Cinaed replied.
“Oh were you there?” Elsa asked.
“Of course I wouldn’t miss my cousin’s wedding.” Cinaed said.
“Oh yeah. You’re related to The Blue Beauty.” Elsa said.
“Yep and The King of Shadows, 2 of the biggest names in this County.” Cinaed said. Reaching the door to the little barn. Cinaed opened it and held it open until Elsa and Karrie were inside. Inside the little barn was 2 sets of pens they were split by a alleyway. The area had 4 window on the opposite side of the building mirroring the other side. Each pen also had a garage door that let the sheep out to a field so they could graze in. The large ram and sheep was nowhere to be found in the pens with the garage doors open. They picked up shovels from and started to shovel the sheep manure.
The light shined in through the dirt, old windows that hadn’t been cleaned in years before they had arrived at that school. Cinaed walked near the garage doors and looked out and saw the rolling hills being cut with fencing and posts. A brook went through the fields where the animals grazed and played. Cinaed also saw the sheep near the trees that were at the corner. He saw the cows lying in their own field, horses running in their own field. He looked and smiled at the beauty.
Then he heard a deep breathe coming from right next to him. Cinaed’s relaxation turned into panic and stood still. Karrie looked over.
“Cinaed what are you doin? Get over here and help us.” Karrie said. Cinaed didn’t move. “Cinaed do I have to make write you to move.” Karrie said getting more annoyed. She then pulled a small book out of her back pocket. She skimmed thru the pages until she made it to a page not full of words.
“Cinaed you know she’s gonna do it.” Elsa said looking over to Cinaed. He still didn’t move this seemed unusual of Cinaed being that he had the kindness to ladies as a gentleman. Unless the lady didn’t seem like a lady to Cinaed and he would show no respect to her.
“Okay…..” Karrie said. She pulled out a pen and started to write. Cinaed turned his head slowly and saw her writing in her book. He looked in fear of quite possibly being exposed by just her magic and making the ram attack him. Cinaed had to make a quick choose either let them know he was the Dragon Wielder or jump back and get slightly mauled by the ram before the 2 of them help him out. Then he came up with a third situation. He jumped back. The ram almost got a hold of him with it’s horns. The ram right in front of the door and turned and started to run up to the three of them.
“RUN!” Cinaed yelled reaching for his cards.
“Ice Make Gunstock Club.” Elsa said making a gunstock club out of ice in her hand. It run to them but they dodged it. The ram hit the iron fence in the back. The fence shook and rung like pipes that hit rock with great force. Cinaed looked at his cards and put 2 in each hand. The ram turn fast and started to run toward Elsa and Karrie. Elsa hit it with her gunstock club. It stopped in it’s tracks but they were both putting pressure on the other but the ram was beginning to get the upper hand.
“Spawn Card: Mecha Omnivore: Freddy.” Cinaed said throwing one of his cards down. It fell to the ground a glow came from it raising Freddy with is eyes closed leaving black spots where Freddy’s eye was and head down. His eyes opened and looked up. He pounced on the ram and turned his claws tried to pull it away from her but wasn’t really effective. Even though it wasn’t really effective but it did attract attention toward Freddy. It swung it’s head toward it and Freddy flying toward the fence. Crashing right next to Cinaed. The ram started to run to Cinaed and Freddy. Cinaed ran outside making the ram chasing after him. The ram began to close in on Cinaed. Cinaed noticed it and started to run in a circle. This gained some distance but just for a little bit and then a voice came over the heavy breathing.
“Ice Make Restraints!” Elsa said. Ice came from from the ground and grabbed the ram’s legs and neck. It stopped it’s tracks. Cinaed stopped and turned around. He looked at the ram. Trying to break free and looking for a way to freedom. Cinaed started to walk up to it and looked at it.
“Cinaed! You are the craziest bastard I’ve ever met.” Karrie said walking up to Cinaed with Elsa. Cinaed didn’t immediately answer and just looked at the ram calming down.
“Yeah I know.” he said turning around and smiling.
“You know that someone as weak as you can’t handle something like him.” Karrie said.
“Yeah.” Cinaed said hiding the rage of being criticized about his strength. The day continued like most days with a smile on his face and the weight of either keeping his Dragon Wielder shadow a secret

Part 2
The Assassination Attempt
As the day went on a day they cleaned the rest of the sheep barn among other things. Agricultural and Forestry Department are a part of a group called Future Farmers of Misdreavus or FFM. These meetings went on in the forestry main building. These meetings were usually 12 minutes and at the end of the day but would be timed so it would give the members time to get to their busses and modes of transport. But on this day it was going on longer than anticipated due to an important event going to happen in a few weeks.
“And this meeting is a jurned.” The president of the chapter said. The president's name was Bebox Vox, he was a 2nd year senior which meant this was his last year as a high schooler. Next year it would go to the person the election committee saw as the next best president.
As members left they felt steamed that some missed their busses including Cinaed.
“Stupid overly long meeting.” He said beginning his long walk to the Company Hall one town over but would take over an hour. On his walk a person in a large hooded cloak with the person’s face mostly covered in a the darkness of the shadow from the hood. The person escaped Cinaed’s senses by running on the roofs and in the trees watching him. That is until Cinaed made it to the Braman River Crossing which split the valley. There was 2 bridges one was large and called the Boom Kill Cake Bridge, the other was small and used to be a train bridge until a depression came along called The Great Crash and killed industry and trains stopped coming into Nilgia. So they transformed the bridge into a way for people walking to get across the river safely. The bridge still had it’s up part made to withstand the tension of trains so it was like a roof with giant holes in it and didn’t provide any protection from the rain.
As Cinaed walked across the bridge the mysterious person flowed but on the upper beams. This continued until the person pulled out a katana but then an upper beam creeked and buckled. Cinaed turned around to the sound and looked up to see the person. The person jumped down and ran toward Cinaed. The person thrusted their katana at him. He dodged hit and turned on his dragon eyes. He tried to punch the person but missed every time. It was almost like that person has Observation Haki or something. He then upgraded to his lower arms.
“Devil Dragon Fire Fist.” Cinaed said trying to punch the person. The person also said something silently and the person’s sword lite with fire blue as the deep blue ocean. The person almost slashed Cinaed but Cinaed caught it. The fires touching sparked between the flames.
“Devil Dragon Punch Draggers.” Cinaed said. The daggers split the sword in 2. The person jumped back and broke the rest of the sword off leaving only the handle. Cinaed looked confused about what the person was gonna do. Then the person silently said something again and the handle grew the blue flame and formed a bastard sword. The blade came fast and faster at him and each time almost cutting him. All Cinaed could only do was jump back. Until he jumped back and yelled “ENOUGH!!! Devil Dragon Breath.”
A beam of fire came at the individual, the person tried to dodge it but hit the person. The side hit made the person spin and hit a beam. Head first into it. The person fell to the wood floor that was the only thing between them and the water below. Cinaed turned to walk away but curiosity got the better of him. Thinking what does this person who just tried to harm him looked liked or the person might have some info about why the person tried to kill Cinaed. Cinaed walked to the person and lifted the giant hood.
The darkness revealed a beautiful girl around his age. Her hair was black and short. She looked adorable. He blushed at such beauty. Then remembered she had tried to murder him in cold blood a minute ago. He then removed the cloak from her body. She was wearing black clothing almost like what a ninja would wear but combined to make an escape into a crowd. She wore gloves to make sure that there was no fingerprints on anything. He found nothing on her to indict anything about her. Cinaed looked up toward the end of bridge and then other side of it. He took a deep breathe.
“What am I gonna do with you?” Cinaed said. “Could just leave her here but then I wouldn’t get any answers not to mention someone could come along and ……..” Cinaed looked down at her and picked her up.

Part 3
Who are tho?
In the company hall Blair and Zalmon were chatting it up with Ren about a new company leader in one of the companies in the valley. The day was pretty average with a couple people sitting at the tables and bar. Freddy was curled up on the floor at the end of the table where Blair and the guys were sitting. Maris was at the bar drinking Dr. Salt chatting with Ian Peterson. Helena was washing a glass and chatting with Vernon.
“Where’s Cinaed? He should have been here by now.” Helena said looking at the door in worry.
“Oh he’s nearby.” Vernon said using his haki. Vernon can is a rogue and magis. The rogue part is his ability to use all 3 types of haki and the magis part is a magic call Strategist which allows the user to notice minor things and use them to his/hers advantage.
The doors opened and Cinaed came in carrying her in his arms. He walked to the storage room and placed her on the bed in the storage room. He walked out.
“I have a young woman with a head injury in the storage room and I would like some help bandaging here up.” Cinaed said. Megan and Helena when to the room and looked at her. Blood was coming from her head and had burns around her leg.
“What happened to her?” Helena ask. Cinaed shrugged it shoulders.
“I don’t know I found her on the bridge on my way here. After I got out too late for the busses.” Cinaed said. Maris looked at the burn with scepticism about his story.
“Alright we’ll get started but you need to leave.” Helena said.
“Why?” Cinaed said.
“Because……” Helena said trying to find words that weren’t blunt.
“Because we need to undress her to see the full extent of her her wounds. Unless you’re into that.” Maris said with a grin.
“No I’m not!!” Cinaed said blushing and rushing out of the little room.
Cinaed rush and sat at the table were the guys were sitting.
“I don’t know some girl who almost killed me?” Cinaed said.
“What?!?” everyone at the table said.
“Yeah she tried to kill me we fought and he hit her head.” Cinaed said as if this was normal news.
“Well then why are they helping her?.....Why are you helping her?” Blair said.
“Because I want info on why she attacked me.” Cinaed said. Maris opened the door.
“Cinaed could you come in here for a sec.” Maris said. Cinaed got up and went over. Looking curious at what was going on. He went into the room to find she was lying on her stomach and her back was showing but on the side of it a black mark. The black mark show beside this sentence. Cinaed saw it in surprised.
“What the hell?” Cinaed said staring at it.
“Not to mention we found her card on her.” Helena said passing up the card. The card had 5 finger prints on it marked with blood. The rest of the card was black.
“We found it stuck to her back covering her mark.” Maris said.
“Who is she?” Helena said. They all looked at her looking at her like she was a criminal with a million faces.
“Cinaed have you see her at any of those government meetings about the BC Bills?” Maris said.
“I don’t think so but Kevin may have…... Another theory is that her could be one of the non counted.” Cinaed said.
“Yeah could be..” Maris said.

Part 4
NO MEMORY?!?!
In the coming days every day after school he would go to the storage room and waited for the girl to wake up. Waiting for info to role out her mouth. It soon turned to Saturday. That same day the company leader finally came back after a long trip with Kevin. The company leader named Nugget McDonald was an old short man that had a beard, he has been the company leader for the past 20 years. Kevin was a tall young man in his early 20s, and pale, Paler than any human should be. Everywhere he went a large dark cloud followed. Kevin was also a Blood Card user. The day was almost at it’s end. Cinaed was sitting in a chair beside the bed and peered over at her then back at a book he was reading. She laid on the bad on her back covered with a blanket.
The girl began to twitch and a groan attached Cinaed’s attention.
“What? Is she waking up?” Cinaed thought. Cinaed leaned over to her and looked at her. She twitched and groaned a little more and then opened her eyes to see Cinaed in her face.
She screamed raised her head hitting Cinaed’s head. Cinaed got knocked back and then she punched him. The force was so great that it pushed him thru the wall and outside.
“WHAT’S ALL THE COMMOTION?!?” Nugget said bursting into the room. Smoke was just settling down. Cinaed was just getting up.
“Cinaed are you okay?” Ren asked looking over Nugget’s shoulder. Cinaed got to his feet and started to brush himself off.
“Yeah… Ouch. God she has one hell of punch.” Cinaed said. Cinaed began to walk up to her. He picked up his chair and sat in it right beside her bed but just outside her arms reach.
“You guys can leave now.” Cinaed said looking over at them. They left the room. Cinaed looked over at the girl. She was scared and hid under the covers but her eyes still showed.
“We haven’t really met yet. My name’s Cinaed.” Cinaed said. She didn’t reply. “Can I have your name?” Cinaed asked. She looked left up and then didn’t answer.
“Alright do you mind telling me why you tried to kill me?” Cinaed asked.
“I don’t know.” she replied. Cinaed looked annoyed at her answer.
“Well sure you know…” Cinaed said before he was interrupted.
“I really don’t know why I tried to kill you, I don’t know who I am or what I’m doing here!” the girl said pulling down her covers in defense. Cinaed at first thought it was a good lie but the more he thought the more he thought it could be possible she got amnesia or something like that.
“In that case I don’t suppose that you know what your Blood Card Creature is, right?” Cinaed asked.
“What’s that?” the girl asked. Cinaed breathed out deeply.
“A creature of great power trapped inside your body would be the best way to describe it.” Cinaed said.
“Oh. What’s yours?” the girl asked. Cinaed grabbed her hand and put it on his shoulder. The next thing they know is they’re in the space where Cinaed and The Devil Dragon meet.
“This is it.” Cinaed said pointing to the bars. She began to walk up to the bars “Wouldn’t get too close to the bars if I was you.”
“Oh come now Cinaed she just wants to see me like all humans you bring in here.” the Dragon said with his eyes glowing at the girl.
“Can we l… l… leave?” she asked scared. They left and found themselves in the same state as when left.
“Yep that’s him.” Cinaed said.
“How could it think of things that….. that….. HORRIBLE?” she said as pale as a ghost.
“What are you talking about?” Cinaed said curious about the statement.
“I saw and felt what it thought and saw!!” she said. Cinaed pulled out his cell phone and began to type. “What are you doing?” she said.
“Trying to find out who you are?” Cinaed said. After a couple minutes of typing and looking up stuff, Cinaed turned off his phone and looked at her.
“Well I couldn’t find anything but that ability you got is the start of Dragon Drive.” Cinaed said.
“What’s that?” She asked.
“It allows a person to control a dragon.” Cinaed said.
“Cool!” she asked.
“Yeah…. So we should find a name for you for the time being.” Cinaed said.
“Okay.” she said. They both thought for a bit and the girl looked at Cinaed’s book on the ground. The book we named The Dark Doctor by Dike Potter with the image of a doctor with a dark shadowed silhouette with a red background.
“How about Dike?” she said. Cinaed looked at her.
“What?” Cinaed said.
“Dike. How about Dike?” she said.
“Well it’s your name so I don’t see why you shouldn’t have it.” Cinaed said.
“Alright my name is Dike.” She said.
“Alright.” Cinaed said smiling at her then remembered to hole in the wall. “I don’t suppose you know if you got any money to pay for the hole you made.” Cinaed asked.
“Nope.” Dike said like she was 5 and she was proud of it. Cinaed breathed out deeply.
“MOM! CM!” Cinaed yelled then Cinaed walked out of the room. Helena and Nugget both walked over to meet Cinaed.
“What do want boy?” Nugget said.
“Ok so the deal is she has amnesia and doesn't remember a thing and has no means to pay for the hole in the wall.” Cinaed said.
“So we have nothing on her or for her besides a bill.” Helena said.
“Yeah Cinaed how is she gonna pay for the new window.” Nugget said.
“Hold on! Hold on. Ok first of we came up with a name we can call her and an idea.” Cinaed said.
“Ok Cinaed what is it?” Helena said.
“Her name is Dike and I think she could pay it off by working for the Company.” Cinaed said. Nugget and Helena were shocked by what he had just said.
“Are you sure this is a good idea, Cinaed? I mean you barely know her.” Helena said.
“Positive! She could be a valuable asset in the future in Company wars and stuff like that.” Cinaed said. Nugget bowed his head.
“Okay but she’s your responsibility.” Nugget said. Cinaed grew a smile on his face.
“Thank you Master Nugget.” Cinaed said.
“Yeah… yeah.” Nugget said heading to the bar.

Part 4
The Training New Girl
In the coming days the company pitched into trying to find out who Dike was and where she came from but nothing. Dike was assigned bartender and got close to the people in the Company especially with Cinaed.
After a week on Saturday it was a bit breezy but still warm because it was almost June. The hedges that separated the sidewalk and the court yard rustled constantly driving Freddy insane with their rustling. It was still early in the day just before 12 in fact and the Company hall wasn’t busy. Maris and Zalmon were taking care of firehouse business and Ren decided to go on a job with Mary. So the Company hall was pretty empty. Cinaed and blair were getting bored sitting at the bar. Dike wearing a bartender uniform like Helena and was leaning against the bar talking with the guys. Helena was washing tables.
“Okay this is boring! Come Dike. Let’s go.” Cinaed said.
“Okay.” Dike said.
“Hey where are you guys going?” Helena said.
“Yeah.” Blair said.
“I’m gonna find out what Dike can do.” Cinaed said.
“Yeah he’s gonna find out what Dike can WHAT?” Dike said.
“Just change into something that we can use to train in.” Cinaed said. “And meet me outside.” And so she did what Cinaed had asked and changed into a witch hat, a jean jacket, a purple short dress with a belt wrapped around her waist and a pair of high boots.
She went outside and found Cinaed waiting for her. He was leaning on the left post of the gates to the courtyard to the door. He was looking down the street at the shops and stores that lined it. He looked over to her after he heard the door close.
“Hey.” Cinaed said.
“So what are you gonna do?” Dike said.
“Follow me.” Cinaed said.
“Okay…” Dike said. Cinaed lead her to the field right next to the Company hall.
“Okay now the only way to let your blood card open it’s powers is to put you in danger.” Cinaed said.
“Okay so how are you gonna do that without your blood car…” Dike said before Cinaed pulled out his cutlass and almost slashed her but dodged it. Cinaed kept slashing at her and she kept dodging. That is until one slash cut the hat and almost her as well and then her hair grew long and turned white. She touched the blade on it’s back and the sword began to grow the blue flame but not as flame like before. Cinaed shocked at the odd flame like thing coming at him let go of the blade. Good thing too because the blade soon became covered completely and once it hit the ground around the grass around the blade dead.
They both looked at what she had done. They both looked shocked but then once the blue was gone Cinaed picked up his sword and inspected it. The leather lining on the handle of the sword was completely destroyed like it was eaten by acid or something. He then looked up at Dike, she was looking at her hair.
“How do you feel?” Cinaed asked.
“Powerful. Like my body is power itself.” Dike said. Cinaed smiled and began to laugh.
“That’s the spirit.” Cinaed said smiling, Dike began to smile as well. “Come now I’ll buy you a drink.”
“Okay.” Dike said. They went inside and got a drink.
“So what was your first experience with the cards power like.” Dike asked holding her glass sitting across from Cinaed at a table. Cinaed’s smile faded to a face of scars.
“It was a cold day. I didn’t have Rob yet and I got in a fight with a bully at school. I was out numbered by his friends 1 to 5 and they just kept beating me and beating me until…… a fire sparked in my heart then the next thing I know is that they’re lying around and I’m panicking.” Cinaed said.
“That doesn’t sound so bad.” Dike said.
“I ran inside the school and the teachers and nurse are calling me a monster or freak.” Cinaed said “And I believed them. Until Grandad told me ‘The monsters aren’t you but the people who call you one for your gift.”
“Wow that’s so sad what they did and powerful.” Dike said.
“Yeah.” Cinaed said.
“Hey wait how long is this gonna last!” Dike asked.
“Hm…… a couple days maybe less.” Cinaed said. “But I like it, it makes you look cute.”
“Thank you.” Dike said.
“You’re welcome.” Cinaed said.

Part 4
Hi
After a couple days Dike’s hair turned back to normal like what Cinaed said. It was morning and the first Tuesday of June. No one was in the Company hall but Dike and Kevin wearing a suit without a tie but had a red scarf.
“I don’t think we ever properly met. I’m Kevin.” Kevin said.
“Nice to meet you Kevin.” Dike said. “So what’s your blood card?”
“Wow not even a ‘the weather’s nice, isn’t it.” Kevin said joking around. “Mine’s Smala Mannen.” Kevin then showed his mark on the back of his neck behind in his scarf. It was a circle with an X through it was smaller than Dike’s mark.
“What’s a Smala Mannen?” Dike asked.
“A lord of the world where shadows are light and light is shadows. That is what is Smala Mannen.” Kevin said.
“Cool…. So what does it looked like?” Dike said.
“He’s a tall ghostly white slender man with no face but has tattoos that look like a large smile and 2 sunk in eyes. It also has a top hat, a suit and hooks on tentacles that come out his back.” Kevin said saying it in great detail.
“Woah!” Dike said.
“Yeah….. I heard you may have the power of decay.” Kevin said.
“What?” Dike said.
“Decay. You know the power to turn things to things too it’s a basic stuff.” Kevin said.
“Oh…. Wait we can get powers from our cards beside body enhancements?” Dike said.
“Yeah Cinaed has can use the Devil Dragon’s fire and I can uses the shadows and multiple things.” Kevin said.
“Woah.” Dike said.
The doors to the Company opened and a tall man with short blonde hair walked in carrying a pile of books and papers. This man was named Luke Newgate and was one of Helena’s brothers. He was a college teacher at University of Massend. He placed the papers and books on one of the tables.
“Dike it’s time for your lesson.” Luke said.
“Coming!” Dike said “Talk to you later.”
“Alright bye.” Kevin said.
