'When I opened up my eyes'

Sesshomaru woke to the glare of the sun.

'The sea was all around me'

All he could see was water, all the way to the horizon, from his little boat. No Jaken, no Rin.

'I felt like I was drowning'

There was a crushing pressure in his chest, one he didn’t know what to do about.

'Slowly'

It kept building and building, like molasses.

'How did I end up here?'

He couldn’t remember anything in the past week, it seemed. Not even a face to match the bruises that littered his pale arms.

'This constant fear would drag me to the bottom'

He recognized the feeling now; an emotion he hadn’t felt in a long, long while.
Fear.

'And keep me long forgotten'

His face showed no sign of this fear, but his hand clenched the side of the boat rightly.

'But you were worth it all'

Then her face floated in front of him, that lovely face with cold blue eyes and white-blond hair, and the snow leopard ears poking out above her braid.

'The one I thought would keep me going'

He would find her, find his way back.

'When I can see the shore through a raging storm'

He could see his island in his mind’s eye.

'And I see you there waiting as I am sailing home'

And her beautiful form, with her ‘jacket’ and ‘combat boots’.

'On a worn-out path you were all alone'

No one wanted her...a lost kitten…

'I’ll be there soon, holding you, sailing home'

Soon he would have her in his arms again, with his mokomoko protecting him from her cold.

'When I can see the shore through a raging storm and I see you there waiting as I am sailing home. On a worn-out path you were all alone. I’ll be there soon, holding you, sailing home'

'Could we forget the past?'

All the fights…

'How could you think I don’t care?'

Her yells…

'You know that I would be there for you'

His disposition was cold enough for the princess of winter to freeze...he had to continue protecting her, for her trust.

'I’d brave a thousand storms and even if my ship was torn to pieces'

He had to return…

'I would make it, as long as I had you'

...return to his mate.

'I can see the shore through a raging storm'

Was that the island? Yes, it was, in this horrid weather.

'And I see you there smiling as I am sailing home'

Was that a smile? His eyesight picked up her beauty quickly, yes it was.

'On a worn-out path you were all alone'

And he could see the path she must have taken many times daily waiting for him…

'I’ll be there soon, holding you, sailing home'

“Soon, my love…”

'Meet me close to midnight following the moonlight'

In the garden, they met late at night.

'When after all this time finally I’ll hold you close forever'

No words were exchanged.

'Hold you close forever'

He simply took her in his arms.

'When after all this time, finally I’ll hold you close forever'

He wouldn’t let go, not again.

'I can see the shore through a raging storm and I see you there smiling as I am sailing home. On a worn out path you were all alone, I’ll be there soon holding you, sailing home'

He was finally back, back from whatever he had been put through.

'Sailing home...
I would make it as long as I had you'

Yes, the great Lord Sesshomaru would never fail…

'Sailing home...sailing home…
I would make it'

He would always return...

'As long as I had you'

To his lovely Sheer Cüld.

He held her, and she slept in his mokomoko once again, just like old times, and he kissed her head and ears.

If Qfeast had that thing where you could center text, this would be much more appealing.
