Chapter 2: The Hunt Is On

I open my eyes, which is much to my amazement. I thought I would be dead, falling from such a height of seven stories high. I feel around, and my brain registers that I have safely landed onto a net. I haul myself off the net to my feet, walking forward. Whatever this place is, I think I now know it's underground.
Perfect hideout from the robots.
Taking out a torch from my pocket, I switch the light on as a guide to see where I'm walking. "Is anyone there?" I speak.
If there are survivors down here, surely they would enjoy the company of another person.
A fox of electric blue fur steps out. "Who are you?" His voice is deep, so it must be a male.
"My name is Jackie," I reply. "What are you doing down here all alone?"
"You're not a robot," he says.
I smile. "Let's just say I can resist Eggman's powers with my own."
"I'm Kyle," the fox says. "You must be a very brave girl."
"I never knew I could be this brave though."
He places his hand on my shoulder, and I try not to blush. I'm married, after all. "You can be more when you believe," he says. "I believed I could find shelter, and I found this place."
"Is there anyone else down here?" I ask him.
"No. Just me."
"We'd better turn this place into a little home."
And at that, we start straight on work.

I finally lie on my bed in my new apartment.
Kyle and I had just finished decorating this underground area into our own hideaway from the robots. While we were at work, a few more Mobians, who were friends of mine, had fallen through the hole down here. Italy, Sky and LuLu. Between us, we became the leaders of this pack, then voted on our main leader, and I won by majority.
We all knew we would seen have to venture back out into the world to find more Mobians able to resist the waves set by Eggman.
The next day, we pack our bags and rise above the ground. Splitting off into 5 different areas, I prepare myself for the danger ahead.
The five of us do have new technology in our watches. Thanks to Tails, at a time before this, of course, our watches now have installed communicators, should we ever need to contact each other.
I see an orchid cat in the distance. "Who are you?" I say.
She turns round, shocked. "My... My name is Lilac," she says.
"It's okay," I reply. "I'm not gonna hurt you."
"Then what are you going to do?"
"I'm going to take you to shelter. Come with me and my friends."
