Do you find the His Dark Materials series ending disappointing?

A while ago, I started reading the Northern Lights. I loved it and read all the other books as well. However, I think the ending is a little weak. Am I the only person with this opinion?

Ok, first of all, is it called the Northern Lights or the Golden Compass? Because I've heard it both ways, and it confuses me.
Secondly, yes, the ending did disappoint me. It was a completely cheesy ending, and what happened to the evil Ms. Coulter? I mean, who's the bad guy now? Is it the cheesy answer "oh, fate is the bad guy in this story"? god idk.

It is called the Northern Lights. Some people call it the golden compass because they made a movie of it and called the movie the golden compass.
